Elias Kent Kane original crypt, 1981. The tomb was about 11 feet by 16 feet and 11 feet deep.

Elias Kent Kane crypt (rear view), 1981. The tomb was frequently vandalized over the years. In 1985 the remains of Kane and seven members of his family were removed and reinterred in a new gravesite at Evergreen Cemetery in nearby Chester, Illinois.
